Dance is one of the most liberating ways to express feelings and helps us tell a story, and share emotions. Every year on April 29, International Dance Day is celebrated to highlight its value and revel in the university of the art form. On this day, &TV artists Mouli Ganguly (Mahasati Anusuya) of Baal Shiv, Akansha Sharma (Sakina Mirza) of Aur Bhai Kya Chal Raha Hai?, Kamna Pathak (Rajesh) of Happu Ki Ultan Paltan and Shubhangi Atre (Angoori Bhabi) of Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai talk about their passion for the dance.
Mouli Ganguly (Mahasati Anusuya) of Baal Shiv, shares, “Dance is one of my favourite ways to de-stress, let go of inhibitions, connect with people, and stay fit. Dance allows me to stay in touch with my spiritual self while also keeping me positive and energized. It brings my mind, body, and soul into harmony and transports me to a world full of peace. I believe in inner happiness, and the only way to achieve it, for me, is by practising this art form regularly. I wish everyone a very Happy International Dance Day”. Akansha Sharma (Sakina Mirza) of Aur Bhai Kya Chal Raha Hai?, shares, “I started my journey as a choreographer and have also choreographed several beautiful acts for reality shows. I have learned under Remo D’souza Sir and Dharmesh Sir. It is because of dance that I got my first break as an actor, and the rest is history. For me, dance is a creative expression, like acting, which helps me share emotions without using any words. Dancing started as a hobby, but it soon became one of the ways of my life to express myself. People who love dancing must continue practising and performing to share the joy.”
Kamna Pathak (Rajesh) of Happu Ki Ultan Paltan, shares, “Dancing makes me feel relieved and confident about myself. Dancing takes me away from all the stress, and negative energies and gives me a sense of liberation. I have participated in many competitions in my school days. My favourite hobby is and has always been dancing. Even if I have a hectic work schedule, I make sure that I take some time out to dance every day. And on this day, which is dedicated to all dance lovers like me, I will just say ‘never stop dancing’. Shubhangi Atre (Angoori Bhabi) of Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai shares, “I have been into dancing since my childhood and have won many state-level competitions. Many of my acting projects have happened because of my dancing prowess. I am overjoyed that my daughter shares the same passion for dance, and I try to spend as much time as possible teaching her certain kathak steps. Dance gives me the mental peace and optimism I need, and I enjoy it thoroughly. On this International Dance Day, I wish everyone to surrender to this beautiful art form and dance away your stress and worries”.
