In India, The Animal Welfare Board of India, a statutory body under the Government of India that has set guidelines which clearly state that banning entry of pets into public spaces, lifts and parks is unlawful. So many a times, pet owners find it difficult to take their pets along with them to the park.
Bollywood actress Sonnalli Seygall who was last seen in Jai Mummy Di is an avid animal lover and has dogs, recently took to her social media handles to talk about this. She wrote how she has to often has to leave her dogs outside the parks, because pets are banned entries.
Talking about it, Sonnalli writes,
‘In a world where we talk about #coexist with mother nature and all her living beings, it saddens me when my babies are not allowed in parks by @my_bmc . Why do we have this rule? To safe guard who? If the dogs are on a leash, and the owners take care of them and clean up after them what is the problem with letting them in these public parks meant for all?? If anything, dogs are scientifically proven to reduce anxiety and stress in human beings. Most countries allow dogs on a leash in all the public parks and I see no reason why a country like ours, which worships dogs even, would do that! I request #bmc , @mumbaipolice to please look into this and revise these rules 🙏 You have no idea how much joy, peace and health you will be contributing to❤️💚
P.S- Swipe left to see Bounty’s let down face, everytime she stops outsider the park near my house and I have to tell her she can’t enter the park 🙁
