Actress Pravina Deshpande talks about her titular role in her new short film “Thanks Mom”

The actress in the titular role in Thanks Mom, says “The script was subtle on a topic which needs awareness in our society. Love is a basic feeling present in every living being and emotions simply have no barrier. This film is about the acceptance of one of such emotions which faces such hardship in our culture.

“Working in the film helped me broaden my horizon towards it. I am grateful to have contributed my bit, she says thanking Palash Dutta for reaching out to her. About Sharad Malhotra Pravina tells us, “Getting along with Sharad was instant due to his pleasant demeanour. She explains ,”The mother-son chemistry is different and little layered. I liked this nuanced variation.” Palash Dutta, the actor, Director Manik Talwar, and writer and producer Aakansha Puri, all took very good care of me and made the set vibrant reducing the work load which is more in short films due to the time constraint. Palash also made jhaalmudi,my favourite, for everyone. Though hectic it was fun to do the film.”

The actress’s impressive repertoire includes her roles as Smt Sushma Swaraj, Smt. Prabhavati Bose,Smt Indira Gandhi, Smt Sarala devi Sarabhai, Smt Pratibha Patil, Mrs Jamal Bakhte Babi,Ms Priya Rajvansh and Mrs. Chitra Vishwanathan. Pravina has also worked in films like Mahesh Bhatt’s Jalebi, Ready, Ek Villain, Monsoon Shoot Out, Bombay Talkies, Blackmail as well as Chokher Bali and Samaapti,Tagore stories by Anurag Basu on Netflix solidifying her presence across various other platforms.
