Actress Reshham Sahaani says, “hats off to Hansal Mehta for choosing new faces to present his film in a refreshing way”

Actress Reshham Sahaani says, “It was encouraging to see how beautifully my character or other characters were also brought to light”

Life works in mysterious ways, and debutante Reshham Sahaani is surely one of those lucky ones to experience the magic firsthand. As a commerce student at Mumbai’s Mithibai College, the 25-year-old never imagined that one day, opportunity would knock on her door, and she would make her Bollywood debut in director Hansal Mehta’s film Faraaz. And now, Reshham gets candid about her journey to becoming an actor, Hansal Mehta introducing new faces to the audience and sharing screen space with Zahan Kapoor and Aditya Rawal.

Reshham Sahaani is a strong performer well beyond her age. The actress who made her debut with Faraaz opens up about her experience, and says, “Faraaz happened very naturally for me, I was working with Mukesh Chhabra sir and when we were doing auditions for the movie, he said, iska bhi le lo and this is how it all worked out”

Reshham further says, “Faraaz by Hansal Mehta introduces two new actors coming from well known families from the entertainment industry, Aditya Rawal (Nibras) & Zahaan Kapoor (Faraaz). But the story didn’t just revolve around them. It was encouraging to see how beautifully my character or other characters were also brought to light. All the characters were important in moving the story forward. In fact, Ayesha, played by me, is a character so fierce in her words and actions that she triggers the terrorists”

The actress went on to add, “Faraaz revolves around a very sensitive real life terror attack. So hats off to Hansal Mehta for choosing new faces to present his film in a refreshing way. Had there been known faces, the audience would organically judge the actors and their personalities more than their characters in the film, but Faraaz as a film gives the audience an authentic perspective to relate to each character. All the new faces have outdone themselves in this film. Hansal Mehta has always managed to bring something new to the table, be it Shahid for Rajkumar Rao or Scam 1992 for Pratik Gandhi.”

Resham also adds, “It’s very refreshing to see filmmakers who support and bring in newcomers. And I am really grateful and humbled for the opportunity that was presented to me.”

On the work front, Reshham Sahaani made her Bollywood debut with Hansal Mehta’s Faraaz, starring Zahan Kapoor and Aditya Rawal.
