Actor Amitriyaan who hails from Bhopal has had quite an interesting journey in showbiz. A qualified engineer, Amitriyaan started his career with director Rakesh Om Prakash Mehra’s Delhi 6. After playing a small role in the film his next was Barah Aana where he played a drug peddler. After this Amitriyaan started doing theatre and then also films like 332, Satya 2 and even a Marathi film titled Manyaa The Wonder Boy.
After completing his post graduation in advertising and PR, Amitriyaan started working as a copywriter but within a few days realised that he is not made for this. He got a break in a commercial during that time and the next day he resigned from his job.
Speaking about his role in Nivedita Basu’s directorial debut Tandoor, which is inspired by true events, Amitriyaan says,”I am playing a character called Ayaaz who is the parallel lead in the series and also love of Rashami Desai’s character. Ayaaz has a pure heart. I have two looks in the series – one which is a college going look and another one which is a matured look with a moustache. For the younger look, I have lost 5 kilos. I had a fruitful experience as an actor while working in Tandoor. Director Nivedita Basu has the potential of becoming one of the finest woman directors of India. She has an eye for detailing and also gives you a lot of freehand which is indeed a great boon for an actor. On the other hand Chitra Vakil Sharma is an actor friendly producer. She was extremely strict during our shooting schedule. We have followed a disciplined covid protocol which helped us finish the shoot without any problem.” Amitriyaan also adds,”My character has a got a lot of potential and this is indeed a great opportunity for me as an actor which I didn’t want to miss. I am looking forward to the audience’s reaction to this series.”
