US based fashion designer and humanitarian Anjali Dhingra Phougat’s says a chat show like Just A Conversation aka JAC provides a platform for discussion on a variety of topics with people from different walks of life around the world. It highlights their journey, especially how they attained success in spite of all the hardships they faced. Every episode used to take us to the journey of an individual, who life inspires us.
“We try to bring attention to people who have thrived by defying stigmas and stereotypes, and whose stories have not always been covered by mainstream media. The guests share their stories of courage and success. Just A Conversation is distinctive because of the multi-dimensionality of our perspectives. Not only do our guests come from an array of occupations and identities, but the hosts themselves bring their own unique backgrounds to the table,” she says.
Anjali transcends the norms of South Asian clothing with her luxury design brand and is also involved with a number of charitable work. Celebrated personalities who came as guests on the show included Sonu Nigam, Zeenat Aman, Shakti Kapoor, Daboo Ratnani, Jayesh Sheth, Shweta Tiwari, Daljit Singh, among others. Shedding light on some of the episodes, Anjali says, “It was phenomenal to learn about Shweta’s journey in spite of all her personal struggle. She is fierce and is an inspiration to many much like Dalljiet. She too had faced a lot, yet stood strong.” After the success of the first, Anjali says she intends to plan the next season of the show.
