His Storyy actor Anupama Solanki’s first film in theatre was Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani: This Ranbir Kapoor-Katrina Kaif starrer is one of my favourite till date

Anupama Solanki’s love for cinema began early on in her life from her mother. The actor shares that her mother, who is in love with films, enjoys watching them whenever she gets time and Solanki, would end up giving her company.

“It sort of developed my interest. I have watched a lot of films on TV while growing up and would often ask my mother many questions. I earned to go to theatres but wasn’t allowed for a long time. Finally, when I could, the first film I watched was Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif’s Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani. It’s one of my favourite films till date,” says the actor, who has done TV shows like Vighnaharta Ganesh and Yeh Hai Mohabbatein, and also a part of Alt Balaji’s web series His Storyy.

Though she was fascinated by films, Solanki’s interest in acting developed when she was in college. “I used to get offers to be a part of music albums while in my college and I tried them out just to explore something new. After I had done about seven to eight of them, I started enjoying acting,” says the actor, who is a trained classical dancer. In fact it’s her love for dancing and her mother also motivated her to take up acting as a profession.

Showbiz looks glamorous and happy from outside, but when they step in they get to see the real picture, shares Solanki.

“When I was younger, the industry seemed like a world of dreams and when I thought it would be very easy to crack. But it was totally opposite when I started out here. Rejections are the first thing that you deal with. You need to work hard and accept the failures. You can’t take a break. The moment one project gets done, you need to look for the next. But I am enjoying these challenges. I am new to this industry, therefore I am taking time to understand certain things but no doubt ‘Mumbai Humko Jam Gayi hai’,” she declares.

Therefore, for now, Solanki does not want to think if she has done the right thing in choosing this field or work and wants to concentrate on her journey. “I don’t think there will be anything better for me than this one and with the blessings of God everything is going well. I’m happy to be here, no regrets at all,” she adds.
