Rohit Purohit, who is seen as Armaan in Rajan Shahi’s Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, which is produced under his banner, Director’s Kut Productions, loves monsoon and is enjoying creating romantic scenes on-screen with his co-star. He believes in keeping it natural and organically reacts to the moment.

He said, “Creating that monsoon magic on screen is all about capturing the essence of romance and spontaneity. My co-stars and I focus on being present in the moment and reacting naturally to the rain and the environment.”

“The director’s vision, the right music, and our mutual understanding of the scene’s emotion play huge roles. Off-screen bonding also helps; we’re like a family, so the comfort level translates into those magical romantic moments you see on screen,” he added.

He further shared that shooting in the rain always brings out the child in people. “One memorable moment was when Armaan was trying to get back to Abhira and convince her. We were both completely drenched, and the intensity of the scene really came through,” he said.

“After the scene, we all just stood there, soaking wet, feeling the impact of what we had just filmed. We received a lot of appreciation for that scene, and it’s definitely one of my favorite moments on set. The camaraderie we share off-screen definitely helps in making our on-screen chemistry shine,” he added.

His character Armaan’s fashion game is always on point, even in the rain. Talking about it, he said, “For the rainy season, my wardrobe includes lighter fabrics and darker colors to hide any potential splashes. Personally, I love layering—think stylish jackets and boots. My tip for everyone is to keep it comfortable and functional, but never compromise on style. Carry a trendy umbrella and always have a good pair of shoes to keep your feet dry.”

Rohit loves the sound of rain and says it’s incredibly soothing. “Monsoons are also the perfect excuse to indulge in hot chai and pakoras. There’s something magical about sitting by the window, watching the rain, and just unwinding. It’s a season that brings out a lot of introspection and creativity in me,” he said.

So if Armaan and Rohit had a monsoon playlist, what songs would be there? “I think Armaan and I would have the same playlist. For Armaan, the playlist would include soulful and romantic tracks like Tum Se Hi from Jab We Met and Jeene Laga Hoon from Ramaiya Vastavaiya, adding some peppy numbers to lift the mood, like Baarish by Atif Aslam and Tip Tip Barsa Paani from Mohra. A mix of soothing and upbeat tracks creates the perfect monsoon vibe,” he ended.
