Daily soap demands a different version of you every day: Tanish Mahendru

Tanish Mahendru made his acting debut with Prateek Sharma’s Studio LSD’s Rabb Se Hai Dua. The actor is playing Sufiyan Siddique, aka Sufi, in the show, and says that doing a daily soap is quite challenging, because every day comes with its own challenges.

He said, “It is the most difficult job to be an actor, especially if you’re working in TV. Daily soap demands a different version of you every day. You have to deal with so many people, and you don’t really get enough time and space to showcase your craft.”

“If you talk about me, I’m enjoying my character and the love that I’m receiving. Sufiyan Siddique is shining all over the place. I have the utmost respect for the platform where I’m performing today, and yes, making a lot of money is never a problem, especially when you know you deserve it,” he added.

He also shared that the best part about working in the TV industry is that an actor becomes a part of every household. “You are in every home in India. You get to see yourself every day on such big channels. The taste of success is sweet and I’m enjoying it,” he said.

But what about the “TV actor” tag, which most actors don’t want to get associated with even when they have started their career on the small screen? “An actor is an actor, it doesn’t really matter where they’re performing. It’s always about the craft and dedication. Everyone has their own definition of success. Reaching the stage where I’m today is still the dream of lakhs of people in India. I really don’t have any issues unless I’m performing my best and my producers are happy. The dream is definitely to reach big screens one day, but I embrace where I’m today too. Success doesn’t have any shortcuts,” Tanish ended.
