Happiness is synonymous with inner peace: Varsha Hegde

Varsha Hegde, who won Kiss Ishq N Konnections (KINK) season 1, says inner peace and being content with herself are what happiness means to her.

Speaking on the occasion of the International Day of Happiness, which is observed on March 20, she said, “For me, happiness is synonymous with inner peace. It’s about knowing where you’re headed, what you want to achieve, and being content with your path. When you have clarity and answers to your questions, you are happy, and you are at peace.”

In some ways, her happiness is also dependent on her career. She says that a stable career gives her a sense of security, which in turn gives her happiness. She added, “Yes, my happiness is tied to my career. I won’t deny it.“

However, Varsha is a firm believer in maintaining a work-life balance and doesn’t believe in bringing her home to her workplace, and vice versa. She said, “I am focused on my work at the workplace; I prefer not to bring it home or discuss it with my friends or family. I believe in keeping work at work and maintaining clear boundaries. This approach helps me maintain balance in my life.”

Sharing the occasions in life that gave her real joy, she said, “The first-ever prize I won was in grade four for a dance competition. That moment remains one of the most memorable and happiest in my life. The second happiest moment was when I was named the best student of the year at my school. Then, the joy of seeing my daughter for the first time when she was born surpassed any other happiness. Winning KINK was the biggest moment of my life. It was so significant that it took me months to fully grasp the reality of being the show’s winner. Doing what brings me instant happiness involves feeding stray dogs and cats. I live in Bandra and often take walks, carrying bags of dog and cat biscuits. Now, the animals on the road recognize me, and it brings me immense joy to feed them. Watching them enjoy the food is truly fulfilling.”

A message to your followers and fans? “Just do what you feel. Don’t worry about what people will think, do, or how they will analyze you. You’re already analyzing yourself. So, do what makes you happy. Life is too short to overthink and complicate things. Live your life. Once time is gone, it’s gone forever. So, when you have the time, just be happy. Live your life,” Varsha ended.
