I’m quite conscious of my looks: Rajat Verma

Rajat Verma, who plays Jay in Ravindra Gautam and Raghuvir Shekhawat’s Dahej Daasi, which is produced under their banner Do Dooni 4 Films, has won the audience’s hearts with not just his performance in the show but also his handsome looks. And though everyone is bowled over by him, he says he doesn’t consider himself to be good looking.

He said, “I don’t consider myself to be a good-looking actor, and I’m quite conscious of my looks. I tend to focus on my flaws whenever I see myself, which makes me avoid looking at myself altogether.”

“Instead, I prefer to focus on my performance when watching scenes, noticing any ups and downs or improvements. Ultimately, what matters most is the perspective of the producers, makers, channel, and audience. If they’re happy with my work, then that’s all that matters. However, I still struggle with seeing myself as a good-looking actor,” he added.

While everyone is talking about his looks and his performance, Rajat is all praise for the writers of the show. He pointed out that every character has been written with such perfection that the audience is bound to make a connection.

“In a story, characters are important, and my character has been written beautifully. He has established meaningful relationships with all the other characters. The sensitivity of these relationships, like the one with his mother, has been portrayed excellently,” he said.

“Just like in real life, when something happens in the family, everyone is affected, and that’s exactly what’s happening in the show. The drama affects every character, including mine, and they all evolve as a result. The relationships have been so well-written and portrayed that everything feels authentic and natural. It’s all thanks to the dedication of the actors and the quality of the script,” he concluded.
