Ishaan Singh Manhas: When it comes to having an entourage, I make sure to have not even one assistant on set

Actor Ishaan Singh Manhas, who was last seen in the web series Raisinghani vs Raisinghani, says that while having an entourage to take care of logistics can help you, it may also disrupt the atmosphere on the set. Hence, he says a balance is a must.

“The entourage culture can be a double-edged sword. On one hand, having a team to support you, including assistants, hair and makeup artists, and social media managers, can increase your productivity. It also allows us to focus more on our performances without worrying about the logistics. However, I understand the concerns about fairness and the additional costs it may incur. It’s important to strike a balance where the needs of the production are met while respecting the budget constraints and the working environment for everyone involved,” he says.

Some actors have social media managers as well, he says, adding, and that is essential today. “Social media has become an integral part of our industry, and it plays a significant role in promoting projects and connecting with fans. Having someone dedicated to creating content like reels can certainly do wonders for your presence online and engage with our audience in a meaningful way. However, like any tool, it’s essential to use it responsibly and in moderation. Finding the right balance between promoting our work and maintaining authenticity is crucial,” he says.

Talking about himself, he says, “I don’t like bringing any assistants on set. It’s been almost a decade in this industry and I prefer doing my makeup and hair styling on my own because I know exactly what suits my face and hair.”

The actor adds, “It’s true that having a large entourage can sometimes disrupt the set’s atmosphere, especially if it’s not managed properly. As actors, we all have different preferences and needs regarding our personal space and privacy. It’s crucial to respect each other’s boundaries and maintain a harmonious working environment for everyone. I believe in keeping a balance between having the necessary support and ensuring that it doesn’t overshadow the collaborative spirit and professionalism on set. Clear communication and mutual respect among all team members are key to creating a positive and productive atmosphere for everyone involved in the production.”
