It’s time to celebrate for actress Maninee De, who recently bagged the title of best Khalnayika for her show Dalchini, in the recently held Dangal Awards. The actress says that she loved to celebrate her success, but never lets it go to her head.
“I celebrate every win by saying thank you to the Lord. I’d like to party, but I haven’t had any opportunities so far to be able to do that. Another thing that I make sure to do is a promise to myself that I’m never going to let it get to my head. My parents have taught me to always remember that success should never be taken for granted. Failure is something that shouldn’t get your head down. So I live by that. I’m very grateful, I’m happy, I’m excited and I set the bar even higher for myself,” she says.
Ask her if she was expecting this, and she says, “No, honest to God, when I work, I don’t work with the expectation that I’m going to get an award. That is never my end game. My end game is that I should feel that I was honest enough to have performed to my best ability. The audience reaction is what matters to be the most. When I shoot as well, I see the reactions of everyone on the set.”
She adds, “I dedicate this award to my hard work, and to the people who have created this character and who have been in my journey, together with me.”
Meanwhile, she says that her character of Raj Rani has not been the easiest one to essay. “The negativity quotient has really challenged me in real life and people, who know me, they all know really well that I am the complete opposite of Raj Rani. The way Raj Rani is, that darkness takes over me sometimes and it scares me. It also heals me in a strange way. There are some things that I have always wanted to say to some people and through this character I am able to,” she says.
She adds, “Well, now you can expect a better game from Raj Rani’s point of view because she has definitely set the standard very high.”
Talking about producers Ravi Dubey and Sargun Mehta, she says, “I love both of them. Their union is very beautiful.. Both of them are very hardworking, authentic people. They are very grounded, confident and very respectful too. and I wish them a great and the best life ahead.”
