Actor Manit Joura is a popular name in the television industry and is presently seen playing the role of Rishabh Luthra in the most popular daily soap ‘Kundali Bhagya. He talks about how he plans to minimize the affect of the festival on the environment by resorting to a much friendlier celebration.Diwali is a time for togetherness and joy. And to share our happiness, this is a festival that we all want to celebrate with pomp and grandeur. But sometimes these gatherings back fire in a negative way. It is not just the environment that is affected, even infants and the elderly find it difficult to adjust to the high decibel levels of firecrackers. Not to mention the plight of pets. Most animals and birds experience trauma during the loud celebrations
“Diwali is a symbol of love and prosperity and I feel we must be careful with what we use to show our celebrations for the festival. From chemical colors to firecrackers and extreme lighting, we somewhere forget that we might be harming the nature as well. I try to use natural colors like condiments like haldi or kumkum for rangoli. Instead of many electric lights, I use diyas and lamps for brightness. I also prefer natural flower decorations. A little tweak to your Diwali celebrations can make a huge difference for your family and the planet”
