Pearl Grey on Pratigyaa 2 doing well: When people love your story, characters and identify with them, it feels good

Pearl Grey is overwhelmed with the “amazing response” around Mann Ki Awaaz Pratigyaa 2. The writer-creative producer-showrunner says that while taking the story ahead from the first season the idea was to spin another interesting tale keep up the flavour. So while the characters are same, their journey and issues are different.

“The viewers are enjoying this season, we would have asked for more. The first season was popular so expectations were anyway running high. And the entire team is working round the clock towards making sure that this time too, the experience is equally good,” says Grey, who is the writer of the show that is being produced by Rajan Shahi.

Grey feels the realistic storyline and earthy feel of the narrative is what attracts the audience to the show.

“That has always been the flavour of the show. Every story is unique, Pratigyaa has its own essence as well. Without altering that we thought of highlighting the issues of present times that people can connect to. Keeping pace with the time, choices and demand is the key,” she adds.

Her early days of growing up in UP helped Grey while writing the story for this season. The look, feel, backdrop etc therefore seem authentic, hence relatable. “When people love your story, characters and identify with them, its feels good. In reality nobody is black or white, but we are mostly grey. Our flaws make us real. When your writing is inspired from your personal experience it makes it more special,” she says.

In the coming week, the writer reveals, there is an interesting twist in the story. “An evidence, that will be found, will points towards Sajjan Singh’s family. How this is found and where it leads to are filled with twists and turns,” she ends.
