It was the big night for Prachee Soman, who curated the TFM (The Filmy Monks) International Film Festival which is one of the first Prestigious Online Film Festivals in the country, to bring along some eminent jury members from Film fraternity under one roof to celebrate the conclusion of its second season. With response buzzing across the globe, the event was meant to celebrate the sweet success and Girish Wankhede, as one of the Jury Members chipped in to host it with his legendary event hosting expertise.
Eminent stalwart N Chandra grace the event as the Chief Guest while Manoj Bajpai spoke at length about his experience as jury Head and shared an instance wherein he was impressed by some young boy in Bihar sending him his short film via twitter. He insisted on the need of such online platforms to create several opportunities for the budding filmmakers. Other than Girish Wankhede; Writer Director Tariq Siddiqui, RJ DIvya Solgama and Ann Doshi were also present as the Jury Members.
N Chandra said, ‘ It is really encouraging to see such platforms which inspires the new breed of Film makers. With innovation in technology and lot of young talent at helm, such windows are important to nurture new talent.
Prachee Soman, the Festival director along with Ron Roy Nag, the Co-founder explains, ‘ With my more than a decade’s experience in education, banking, shipping and entertainment, I wanted to blend my entreprenuerial skills with creativity and come out with a strategy to promote local talent. This second season of TFM has been astonishing with the entries and the excitement of jury members. It was fabulous and I have already moved on to my next venture, TFM International LGBT Film festival called PINK LOVE which kickstarts in this month with the Laxmii Fame Actor Sharad Kelkar to helm as its Jury Head’.
Girish Wankhede, the reputed Film Trade Analyst and the host was quite upbeat with the turnout. Along with Dr Sagar, the lyricist and Prem Jhangiani, the PR guy turned actor, was Actor Producer G K Desai who mentored TFM International Film Festival and was instrumental in bringing all the talent on board. It was quite an evening !
