On International Mother’s Day, &TV artists share their experiences of being Supermom

Mothers are considered the one who rocks the cradle and rules the world, and this is true. She is someone who motivates, shows the right direction, and encourages us to reach new heights. She is, above all, the one who has always had our backs! On International Mother’s Day, &TV actors and real-life supermoms, Himani Shivpuri (Katori Amma, Happu Ki Ultan Paltan), Shubhangi Atre (Angoori Bhabi, Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai), and Farhana Fatema aka (Shanti Mishra, Aur Bhai Kya Chal Raha Hai?) speak about their special bond with their children.
Himani Shivpuri, aka Katori Amma, shares, “One of the most difficult jobs is balancing parenthood and professional life. Many people assume that emotional stress on me after my husband’s death will make it impossible for me to do both. On the other hand, my son made me feel like I was on top of the world. The entire experience of becoming a mother has been great. He has been with me through thick and thin. With him, every day is special, and he has brought me so much joy. Being a single working mother is difficult, but I sailed through it because my son was there for me. He is one of the most sympathetic and supporting persons I know, and I consider myself fortunate to have such a son! I want to wish all single mothers a lot of strength and courage on Mother’s Day.”
Shubhangi Atre (Angoori Bhabi) of Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai shares, “Yes, I am a full-time mother and part-time actor. I’d always wanted a daughter, and I now have a lovely one. My daughter Ashi is my entire universe, everything I own, and the most valuable gift I’ve ever received. She is an affectionate person who is also very loving and compassionate. She acts more like a mother to me than a daughter at times. She brings so much happiness and joy into my life, cheers me up when I’m down, looks after me when I’m sick and has so much in common. We’re more like friends now, and we talk about everything. My mother instilled values such as love, strength, tolerance, acceptance, bravery, and compassion, which I intend to pass on to my daughter. I wish all supermoms out there a very Happy Mother’s Day.”
Farhana Fatema aka (Shanti Mishra, Aur Bhai Kya Chal Raha Hai?), shares, “I believe that there’s no crown for best mother in the world. Every mother is the best mother in the world. The fact that you’ve given birth to another human being. As a mother, I always believed I was missing out on that special moment, but slowly, I started enjoying motherhood. Each day is special with my daughter Maisara, and she has brought so much happiness into my life. Being a working mother is quite challenging, but I sailed through this journey as my daughter is my constant support at every step. After my shoots, I always care for Maisara’s gaming passion and her schoolwork and assignments. She occasionally visits sets and studies in my room, and I am pleased because she is a hardworking youngster. Happy Mother’s Day to all the beautiful and fabulous mothers.”
Sapna Sikarwar aka Bimlesh in &TV’s Happu Ki Ultan Paltan says, “My favourite companion and greatest source of strength is my daughter, Maanya. Her presence, I believe, has made my life more lovely and meaningful. While it is a common belief that women, particularly pregnant women, find it difficult to balance their professional and personal life, I completely disagree. To honour all mothers on Mother’s Day, I’d like to share a personal experience. I started shooting for a popular GEC show when I was a month pregnant and continued until I was seven months pregnant. The baby in my womb gave me all the energy and motivation I needed to keep working, and the show aired for four years, just as God had planned. Maanya also used to accompany me on set. She is a delightful daughter and a constant source of joy. She’s currently nine years old and has become one of my closest friends. We go shopping, take long road trips, eat out, and so much more. I’d want to take this opportunity to wish all mothers a very happy Mother’s Day.”
