Cyclone Tauktae’s devastating effect amid the ongoing pandemic has only made the situation all the more worse. Last year there were Nisarga and Amfan and this time is Tauktae and now the impending cyclone Yass that is expected to hit places like Odisha, West Bengal and Andaman, and Nicobar. Marriage Anniversary actor Puja Agarwal sounds worried talking about how the world is facing one issue after the other. She wishes and prays that things get better soon.
“Responding to a natural disaster is a complex problem. We don’t have control over any such calamities. Even with all our technology and inventions that make modern life so much easier, it takes just one big natural disaster to wipe all that away and remind us that we’re nothing in front of Mother Nature and are still at her mercy,” she says. Puja feels it’s time that we mend our ways and be responsible. She begins by saying that it’s heartbreaking to see climate change have such adverse effects on our lives.
“As citizens, the only thing we can do is correct our ways by planting trees, curb pollution, save water etc. We also need to be actively nurturing Mother Nature and be kind to all living beings thriving around us. Being by each other’s side in times of need is also important. Though this is a much bigger problem with no simple solution and I hope that world leaders come together to find a way forward,” she concludes.
