Indian television has given us some remarkable friendships across several shows, depicting buddies as the embodiment of love, care, compassion, and togetherness. These small-screen friends have made a lasting impression on viewers’ minds. On this International Friendship Day, &TV characters cherish the unbreakable onscreen friendship bonds. It includes Ashok (Mohit Dagga) and Manoj (RJ Mohit) from Doosri Maa, Daroga Happu Singh (Yogesh Tripathi) and Beni (Vishwanath Chatterjee) from Happu Ki Ultan Paltan, and Tika (Vaibhav Mathur) and Tilu (Salim Zaidi) from Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai. Mohit Dagga, aka Ashok from Doosri Maa, shares, “One can always count on friends even at times when it’s difficult to reach out to family, and Manoj is that friend to Ashok. When Ashok’s life was in turmoil, Manoj was the only one who supported him as a best friend and stood beside him like a brother. Even now, when Ashok is not with his family, he has been helping Yashoda in every possible manner. Manoj is someone whom Ashok can completely trust. He shares his deepest secrets with him without any inhibitions. His judgement about people, situations, and problems always helps Ashok to make appropriate decisions.”
Yogesh Tripathi, aka Daroga Happu Singh from Happu Ki Ultan Paltan, shares, “Beni is the “Jeegri yaar’ of Happu. Happu often lands himself in troublesome situations with his actions, and Beni comes to his rescue. He always gives Happu unsolicited advice, which usually turns into a big blunder, yet he is Happu’s go-to person. Happu and Beni are the thickest of friends and are inseparable. No matter how much their families fight with each other, they both always find a reason to sit together for a drink and cheer for their misery. Beni is a true friend and adds spice to Happu’s life.” Vaibhav Mathur, aka Tika from Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai, shares, “Tika and Tillu are epitome of friendship. All their pranks and mischiefs are incomplete without each other. They are both hilarious together. The dynamic and rock-solid friendship of Tika and Tillu is funny, full of entertainment, and humorous. Their on-screen ‘Yaari’ completes each other and adds more fun for the viewers to watch. Tika and Tillu are perfectly imperfect for each other and have each other’s back no matter what. Their banter and unwavering support on-screen make them the best buddies of Indian television.”
