Subodh Gulati on his character Banta in Ziddi Dil Maane Na: I relate to my character partially because in reality, unlike him, I am a very jolly person

Subodh Gulati starrer Ziddi Dil Maane Na has been getting good response from small screen lovers. The actor plays the role of Banta in the show that is being bankrolled by Sudhir Sharma and Seema Sharma’s Sunshine Productions.

“We are elated given the superb response around Ziddi Dil Maane Na. I get many instagram DMs every day, where the audience talk about what they like about the show, why they are watching, and at times they also give us suggestions. It’s a youth based show and not like any regular serial, it’s made really well and the story is nice, guess these are reasons behind its popularity,” says the actor.

Subodh shares how much he relates to his character on the show and how he makes sure to add something new every time he faces the camera.

“I relate to my character partially because in reality I am a very jolly person. I am someone who likes to enjoy the moment and not very serious though I look very serious and reserved. I gave good comic timing too. But in these areas Banta (Ustaad ji) is just opposite to me, probably the reason why I am enjoying playing this role. The show has just started and slowly when the character develops the audience will get to see various shades of Ustaad ji,” he explains.

Heaping praises on the producer duo of the show, he adds, “Sudhir sir and Seema ma’am cannot be called producers or bosses. They are sweet and nice people. When they are on the set, they motivate and encourage us. They are so grounded and friendly. When our workshop happened before the serial started, Sudhir sir and Seema ma’am were always present during the sessions and were like one of us who were participating to learn something out of it. They are super fun to work with. I must also mention that our director of the show is also very loving and cooperative. I am learning so much from them every day.”

Subodh is cordial to all his colleagues. “I share a good rapport with everyone on the set. Our interaction during the workshop helped us in knowing each other. On the set, nobody is senior or junior, we all are like friends. I share a very special bond with Aditya, who plays the character of Faizi. He is my roommate too. So we do all kinds of fun stuff because we spend a lot of time together,” he reveals.

Sharing an incident that happened during the first day of the shoot with Karan, Subodh says he felt an interesting connection when they met for the first time. “He was polishing his shoes and I went up to him and the way we bonded it felt like we shared a Munna bhai and Circuit sort of a connection. The emotions came out naturally. It was quite fun interacting with him. Karan is a very nice human being and it feels good to work with co-stars like him. God bless Karan. He’s doing really well in the show,” he says.

Recalling an incident from his life when he felt “Ziddi”, Subodh adds, “I am Ziddi and will always be one in a positive way. The goal of my life is to achieve whatever I dream of. For that I will always be ziddi. I am here because I am ziddi. If I were not ziddi I wouldn’t be doing this show or pursuing a career in showbiz.”
