It was a special day for Sukhmani Sadana as her family and friends gathered to celebrate her latest Netflix project ‘Jogi’. The actor-writer hosted a special screening of the Diljit Dosanjh starrer for her near and dear ones at Juhu and the who’s who from tinsel town gathered at the do.
Rochelle Rao, Keith Sequeira, Manish Goel, Rithwik Dhanjani and others were moved by the gripping story and even had tears in their eyes. Few others like Jaideep Ahlawat, Karan Grover could not make it to the screening because of work commitments, but they sent their best wishes for Sukhmani nevertheless.
Speaking about the same, an ecstatic Sukhmani said, “I wanted to share my special day with the special ones. So I hosted a private screening for friends and family. A lot of them turned up and those who couldn’t sent their love and best wishes for me.”
The Netflix original that premiered on September 16 is a story of Jogi set in 1984, and revolves around friendship, courage and brotherhood amid the times of widespread communal tension in the country.
Directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, Jogi also stars Kumud Mishra, Amyra Dastur, Mohd Zeeshan Ayyub and Hiten Tejwani in pivotal roles. Sukhmani Sadana took the reigns of writing the screenplay and dialogues for this gripping historical drama.
