The greatest praise for an actor is when they’re able to embody the character they’re portraying: Rajat Verma

Rajat Verma plays Jay in Ravindra Gautam and Raghuvir Shekhawat’s Dahej Daasi, which is produced under their banner Do Dooni 4 Films. He is happy that his character has been able to connect with the audience and shared that the producers have also praised his performance.

He said, “The feedback I’ve been receiving is really positive. Everyone seems to be enjoying my performance, and both Raghuvir sir and Ravindra sir have praised it. The audience and the channel also seem to love my character, so that’s all going well.”

“They’ve asked me to bulk up a bit, which I’m trying to do, despite not having much time for workouts due to my hectic schedule. I only get about 5 hours of sleep a day, so things are quite busy for me. But as long as everyone is happy with my work, I’m content. Raghuvir sir especially likes my expressions, particularly in the anger scenes, where he feels I portray the character well. He says I come across as a mature and Rajput-type character, which is exactly what the role demands. So, I think the greatest praise for an actor is when they’re able to embody the character they’re portraying,” he added.

Talking about his character, he said that he is quite different from his reel life. He mentioned that while Jay is very impulsive, Rajat handles everything with maturity.

“My character comes from a Rajputana background and is the son of the Mahasarpanch, Vindhya Devi. He’s known for his rebellious behavior, but I don’t really relate to him. I’m more of a calm and level-headed person, not as outgoing or quick to take a stand on everything like Jay,” he said.

“While I do have a rebellious side, I approach things with understanding and maturity, considering different perspectives before making decisions. Jay, on the other hand, tends to act on impulse without much thought, even if it means stepping on others’ toes. So, I find it hard to relate to my character on the show in that sense,” he ended.
