TV Actors’ favourite fairy tales!

National Tell a Fairy Tale Day is celebrated on February 27th, and &TV artists Preity Sahay (Kamini, Doosri Maa), Kamna Pathak (Rajesh, Happu Ki Ultan Paltan), and Vidisha Srivastava (Anita Bhabi, Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai) talk about their favourite fairy tales. Priety Sahay essaying Kamini in &TV’s Doosri Maa, shares, “The story of Alice in Wonderland has always been my favourite. I would love to read and listen to it again and again. I would never get bored with it. It was fascinating to see what Alice encountered after falling down the rabbit hole. The best part of Alice’s story was her tea party with the Mad Hatter and all her friends. In excitement, I asked my father to buy me a tea set. I used to stage the mad tea party from Alice in Wonderland with my friends at home. They used to love my tea parties. Even now, whenever I host a party at home, I imagine myself as Alice in Wonderland (laughs).”

Kamna Pathak, essaying Rajesh in &TV’s Happu Ki Ultan Paltan, says, “Rapunzel was my all-time favourite fairy tale. Her long and strong hair captivated me so much that I refused to let anyone cut my hair for a long time. I would ask my grandmother for champi to help my hair grow faster. After washing my hair, I would spend hours in front of the mirror measuring and gazing through the long strands of my hair, imagining myself as Rapunzel. I was inspired not only by her long hair but also by her bravery and strength.” Vidisha Srivastava, essaying Anita Bhabi in &TV’s Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai, says, “My mother used to read fairy tales to my sister and me before putting us to bed. My favourite fairy tale is the story of the White and Seven Dwarfs. I was astounded by Berry, her small rabbit pet and companion who never left her side despite the circumstances. I insisted my mother get me a pet like Berry. Initially, she refused but eventually agreed to let me have a small dog instead of a small rabbit-like Snow White. I was overjoyed to have Romeo with me all the time, just as Berry was with Snow White. I feel our innocence towards fairy tales lives with us throughout our lives. I am happy a day like ‘Tell a fairy tale day’ exists that reminds us to relive some of the happiest moments of our lives.”
