&TV’s Doosri Maa’s actor Neha Joshi ties the knot

Popular theatre and television actor Neha Joshi, who will be essaying Yashoda’s character in &TV’s upcoming family drama Doosri Maa has tied a knot recently with her long-time partner Omkar Kulkarni. On August 16, 2022, the wedding ceremony took place in Mumbai in a close-knit function attended by close relatives and friends. Talking about her marriage ceremony, Neha Joshi shared, “It was a private affair with close relatives and friends present to join us for the ceremony. I never wanted a big fat destination wedding and have always preferred to keep things simple. It was a low-key affair with traditional rituals followed by a court marriage and a small reception the next day. For me, weddings and ceremonies are more of a family affair, and I prefer keeping them private. I wanted to pinch myself at my wedding on becoming an actual Maharashtrian bride. It wasn’t sinking even when the Haldi ceremonies started. I selected a blue Paithani with a gold border as my wedding saree, and my designer friend gifted me the saree for my reception. At the same time, I opted for a normal salwar kameez for my court marriage the next day. The best part of my wedding was that it was done by two female priests who explained the rituals’ history and significance to us. It was quite beautiful.”

Talking about her husband – actor, director, and writer Omkar Kulkarni, Neha said, ” I remember meeting him ten years ago on the set of a Marathi show, and we instantly hit it off. After many years of knowing each other and being friends, our love blossomed. We both share the same love and passion for our art, and I think that’s what brought us closer. We decided to take things slow and opted for a living-in relationship. It has been a wonderful journey together, and even though we are now married, we feel it is just officiating our relationship on paper. We never felt the need to be married as our love, respect, and affection for each other were more than enough for our relationship to sustain. Besides, we were completely focused on our careers which kept us busy. Our bond has only become fonder and stronger with time. We are both excited to embark on this new journey as husband and wife. They say that you get wedding jitters, but I didn’t. Our families have known each other for quite some time and have supported us. We both are thankful to them, and today as we embark on this new phase, we are excited and full of gratitude. Alongside my marriage preparations, I took up &TV’s Doosri Maa show, the shoot for which is already underway. It is my second show on the channel, and I am thrilled to be a part of it. It has been challenging to manage both – the shoot and preparations for the wedding. But my family has helped me with all the arrangements and ceremonies. I shot the first promo for the show the day before my wedding and now eagerly looking forward to its on-air date. I feel fortunate to have a supportive production team and family, which has helped me manage both easily. Both require focus and dedication. Especially, Omkar has been a great support. None of this would have been possible without his support. It’s a wonderful feeling to begin a new chapter in my life with my man”.
