Birthdays are always special as one gets all the attention and affection from their family and friends. And everyone celebrates their special days differently. Some throw parties, some donate or spend a day supporting a cause, some travel, some prefer staying indoors, and some prefer a simple and quiet time. But our Kamlesh, aka Sanjay Choudhary from &TV’s Happu Ki Ultan Paltan, has an unusual birthday planned this year! Let us learn more about it through a brief interaction with the young actor.
- What are your plans for your birthday this year?
Birthdays have always been about spending time with family and gorging on my favourite foods. Every year, I take a day off to visit my hometown, spend time with family and enjoy Maa Ke Haanth Ka Khana! However, this year, I decided to give my mom a break from cooking. Instead, my parents visited me in Mumbai. Since they are unfamiliar with the city, I took them on a complete Mumbai Darshan! - So, what is so special about this Mumbai Darshan?
It is said that the best plans are the impromptu ones! And the best way to explore and experience a city is to travel locally! But travelling always does not mean ticking famous places off a list. So, we started our darshan by waking up early in the morning to see the sunrise! Afterwards, we walked around Juhu beach to enjoy the lovely morning breeze and headed to the famous Siddhvinayak Temple for a darshan, followed by Mahalaxmi temple. We then went to a local eatery to enjoy a wholesome south Indian breakfast. We explore several street shopping hotspots, Khau Gaalis, and a few historic places for the rest of the day. But Mumbai Darshan is incomplete without local train travel! It was one of the most memorable moments, and thanks to my parents, I got to see and discover so much about Mumbai, its culture, and its people! - Do you have any special birthday rituals?
There are a few rituals that we have always had! But this year, we decided not to follow them. It starts with eating one of the yummiest cakes, baked by my mother, followed by gorging my favourite dishes. Besides this, I also try to dedicate my day to underprivileged children and the elderly by buying and distributing food packets, chocolates, pastries, and snacks. It gives me immense happiness to see their smiling faces. It makes my day extra special. - What is the most memorable gift you have ever received?
I am fortunate to have a fan base that sends me gifts as a token of love, whether it is my birthday or not. The most memorable gift I ever received came from one of my fans, Shanaya, who sent me a coffee mug with my name written on it that glittered and shined and changed colour in a dark room. This gift is very special to me, and I keep it on display in my living room. - Tell us about the onset celebration with co-stars.
I remember how Aashna Kishore (Kate) and the other kids decorated my make-up room last year. They are an integral part of my family now, and any celebration is incomplete without them. I am planning to arrange a good lunch for them. Let’s see their plans to make me feel special this year (laughs). - Any special wishes for this birthday?
My only wish is that people continue to adore my character, Kamlesh, and his quirkiness. All I need is the love and appreciation of my fans. I will strive to take advantage of every opportunity and keep working hard to make my family and fans proud.
