There are some characters who actors look up to, and for actor Vicky Singh, that character is Yash in the show Dahej Daasi on Nazara TV. Produced by Do Dooni 4 Films’ Ravindra Gautam and Raghuvir Shekhawat, he says that Yash is someone who everyone who want to be.
“Yash is the ideal man that everyone would want to be around. He is very respectful to those around him, he is innocent and kind. He respects his Maa sa and loves his younger brother Jay. For him, relations and values are of utmost importance,” he says.
He adds, “I have learnt a lot from my character. The way he articulates his emotions in words is the best part about him. I did a lot of preparation to play the character of Yash. I watched the iconic film Hum Saath Saath Hain as Yash is almost like actor Mohnish Bhel’s character in the film. I studied and understood him because the dimension of my character is very close to his role of Vivek Chaturvedi. I am not very calm and composed but yes there are a lot of similarities between Yash and Vicky. I am also very kind, respectful, and disciplined. For me also, family values and relations are of utmost importance.”
Talking about sporting a glamorous royal Rajasthani attire in the show, he says, “Apart from performance, there are many things required to give a realistic approach to any character. The costume plays an important role. The Rajasthani royal attire makes me feel like a prince. I actually believe that I belong to a very rich and cultured family. But it’s tough to maintain continuity because there are a lot of accessories you need to wear. Like earrings, finger rings, pagdi, and the real sword. But it’s fun!”
