June 21 is celebrated as International Yoga Day. Speaking on the occasion, Radhika Vidyasagar, who was recently seen in the Bollywood film Munjya and is also seen in TV show Udne Ki Aasha, said, “Yoga brings welfare and well-being. Fortunately, I have been practicing yoga for many years. Although I sometimes switch to gym workouts and cycling, I’ve maintained a medium level of exercise.”

“For the past eight or nine years, I have been regularly doing yoga, thanks to Damale Yoga Mandir, which is very close to my house, and our respected and beloved Baedeker Sir, who teaches yoga there,” she added.

She says yoga is age-old and classical, and it has become a part of her routine now.

“Since COVID-19, I have been taking my yoga classes online every day. My class starts at 8:00 a.m. and lasts for about an hour. My yoga routine includes pranayama, anulom vilom, and shirasasana. We start with omkar, then proceed to various asanas. Once a week, we do Surya Namaskar. At the end, we always practice shavasana. This entire session, lasting about 45 minutes to an hour, relaxes me,” she said.

“The stretching and yoga have made my body really flexible. I am happy that I know almost all the asanas and have been practicing them regularly. Yoga has not only improved my flexibility but also helped in repairing chronic diseases and achieving mental peace. It is known worldwide that yoga is beneficial. I also cycle regularly and practice yoga daily. I am really thankful for starting this practice and knowing its advantages. I love yoga, and I am grateful that I know all the shlokas as well,” she ended.
